Short version: no accounts, no sign-ups, no email collection. Air Story doesn't store anything about you on its servers.

Your location

If you allow it, your browser shares your approximate location with the page so it can show your weather. The page sends those coordinates directly to the weather services listed below to fetch data. We don't log or keep them.

Weather and map services

Your browser requests data straight from these providers, which see your IP address and the coordinates in each request, under their own policies: Open-Meteo, the National Weather Service, the Iowa Environmental Mesonet, NASA GIBS, Esri (map tiles), BigDataCloud (naming where your air came from) and jsDelivr / cdnjs (code libraries).

On your device

Your finished air trail is cached in your browser's session storage for up to an hour so the page reloads instantly. It never leaves your device and clears when you close the tab.

Share cards

The share image is drawn in your browser. Nothing is uploaded unless you choose to share or save it yourself.

Analytics

Our host, Vercel, keeps standard server logs. We don't use analytics cookies or tracking pixels.

Advertising

Air Story may show ads from Google AdSense to cover its costs. When ads are on, Google and its partners use cookies to serve ads based on your visits to this and other sites. You can turn off personalized ads in Google's Ad Settings or opt out of third-party vendors' cookies at aboutads.info. See how Google uses information from sites that use its services. Visitors in the EEA, UK and Switzerland are asked for consent first.

Children

Air Story is a general-audience site and doesn't knowingly collect information from children.
