Your sky is a stack of layers

Each layer has its own clouds, water and wind.

What am I looking at?

The dots are the three heights we traced back three days. Layers stacked above you often come from different places.

Why dew point, not humidity?

Relative humidity swings all day with the temperature. Dew point measures how much water is actually in the air, so it tracks what your skin feels.

How the air trail is traced

We start at your spot and follow the model winds backward three hours at a time for three days, at about 2,500, 5,000 and 10,000 ft. It runs in your browser on Open-Meteo data. Treat it as the general path: it gets less certain the further back it goes.

Coming next

The planet view: the jet stream and the big highs and lows that steer everything above you.
